Be part of the newest and most exciting program on campus - The Kahlert Initiative on Technology! Become a Kahlert Scholar. This program will help you TECH UP your degree with today’s relevant tech skills. You will receive scholarship for each class as well as be part of the Kahlert community. By completing the program and finishing 7 Kahlert classes you will obtain the Certificate in Digital Literacy as well as experience the following opportunities and competencies:

  • Engaging with Silicon Slope Companies
  • Understanding of how modern technologies work
  • Build your own mobile app
  • Learn design thinking
  • Know more about Blockchain and Cryptocurrency
  • Know how to make Artificial Intelligence work for you
  • Create Virtual Reality environments
  • Selective Scholarships are available for several students

This opportunity is open to all University of Utah students. Deadline to apply for Spring 2023 Semester is Jan 10, 2023. Applications are reviewed and accepted on a first-come-first-served basis so apply soon. We would love to have you.

By being accepted into the Kahlert Initiative on Technology as a "Kahlert Scholar" you agree to take a minimum of one of the classes listed above per semester. These classes will count toward the Kahlert "Digital Literacy" certificate which will be added to your degree. You also agree to maintain a high grade point average in the Kahlert classes. All students that are accepted into the Kahlert program will be eligible but not required or guaranteed Internships and scholarships. Students agree to enroll in classes and maintain their own schedules. By being admitted as a Kahlert Scholar you will automatically be enrolled into the program but it is up to you to register yourself for the classes each semester.
